Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation Compliance Inspectors and Enforcement Investigators joined forces in a license sweep to catch unlicensed activity performed in beauty supply facilities in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Six teams, each team made up of one inspector and one investigator, inspected more than seventy beauty supply facilities and found several instances of unlicensed activity taking place.
To practice barbering and cosmetology the service must be performed in a licensed shop or salon and the person performing the service must hold an appropriate license. Practicing without a license is a violation of the law and rules and will result in a violation.
